The Glory

I've fineshed the first report for my university.
And now I am writing the second report for Japan Association of Private University Libraries.
I am under pressure to write as voluminous report as the past participants.
However I have hectic days to get over lots of work lately.
Actually I can’t get the holydays because of my work.
Anyway I have no time to write the report though the deadline is approaching.

When my boss asked me, “You can’t get the holydays, can you?”
I answered, “No, I can’t. I’m really in a hard lot!”
And then my boss said, “The hard lot is the glory.”
Maybe I will be able to agree if I triumph over the hardness.

The Report

Finally I completed writing the report of the training, and presented to the colleagues.
The report took me about 3 months to write.
How slow at writing I am!
But my boss praised me.
“Your report is very excellent. It lifted you in my eyes.”
I am flattered.

All to myself

The examination term was over in my university.
It is a vacation for students now, but it is not for librarians at all!
We have a lot of tasks such as analyzing the results of the works and preparing to instruct the freshmen.
Furthermore, I’m obliged to present the report of the training in America and the suggestions of new plans.
During the spring vacation, my library is closed at 19:30, and all of the librarians except me go home by 19:30.
So I have to work all alone in the dark and silent library after 19:30.
“In the huge building crowded with vast amounts of old books, there is only 1 person.”
The thought frightens me.
But it means that nobody cares even if I sing or shout in the library.
I do have the library all to myself after 19:30!
